Antony is the Managing Director and co-founder of Direct Market Touch, with the firm embodying the key facets acquired throughout his City career spanning over two decades.
Following his degree in Business and Mathematics Antony honed his craft at Phillips & Drew, the fund management arm of Union Bank Switzerland, latterly UBS, before, in the late 1990’s, he subsequently specialized at a boutique City Investment House on AIM Market fundraises.
The ensuing dot-com bubble fuelled heady days at the start of the 21st Century, which saw stock indices of industrialized nations spike to all-time highs, including the FTSE AIM-index, which closed at what remains a record high of 2,745.8 in February 2000. During this time Antony oversaw a number of fundraises for AIM Market companies, raising significant sums and building a wide-ranging network of corporate clients and contacts.
His experience during this time has led him to write extensively on speculative bubbles, including tulip mania of 1636-37, and the South Sea bubble of 1720. Consequently at the core of his investment philosophy is a focus on fundamental analysis, identifying stock specific investments, a philosophy that is reflected in the culture and thinking at Direct Market Touch.
